Berpriv "Urban Luxur"

For those who don't know what Bepriv is, it's a French brand from Paris created by two young suburban’s who were inspired by the 80's street fashion. Their first collection was launched in winter 2006, and they are continuing to provide you with that good stuff! They have created their concept of “Urban Luxur" mixing the streets along with the luxury. Their site preprivparis.com is presently under construction, but you can purchase some of their items on karmaloop and check out some of their previous collections on their myspace page. Many may be familiar with the traditional Cazal translucent coloured vintage glasses but now Cazal brings you a new 80's inspired look. Colorways also come in red and blue. This German brand enjoys using playful colors and details always adding a bit of an unususal touch. You must keep in mind these are not current designs but are originally from the 80's. Converses' 1Hund(red)th Birthday Celebration

Last week, Converse launched its Conversations  event in NYC. The event featured a showcase of artist contributions, live installations and a DJ set by Sonic Youth member Thurston Moore.  

Celebrating its 100th year in the footwear game, Converse enlisted 100 artists to customize a pair of Chuck Taylor's by hand. 

Some of the usual suspects have designed shoes, along side a few lesser known names and our very own homie, Jeff Hamada. Other artists include including Rostarr (USA), Rinzen (USA), Hiroshi Fujiwara (Japan), Jeremyville (Australia), Colletivo Design (Brazil), Grandpeople (Norway), Supakitch (France) and UPSO (USA).

 

Converse has been a leader in the (RED) campaign, the global fund to fight AIDS.10% of the net wholesale price of these shoes goes to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Geneva, Switzerland).

The tide is high for Mama's spring collection

Mama is one of our favorite female lines in and around the game and brands keep jumping in bed with Mama because they make collections that keep it real, for real chicks. Montana Paints, New Era, Adidas--the collaborations speak volumes.

 

The new lookbook shot in sunny SF makes us out on the east--in the cold--a bit jealous, but the new Cut-n-Sew collection makes up for it by giving us a warm feeling inside.
